When choosing to elope in Big Sur, most people immediately think of those stunning sunsets we all see, but many overlook just how special and intimate sunrise, can be. If you have ever visited the area then you know it can fill up with tourists during certain times of the year and especially on weekends. When Amy + Kevin choose a sunrise elopement, I was so excited because I just knew how peaceful it would be!

When their day finally came, we all woke up before the sun, got on the road and drove a short ways down the coast to Garrapata State Park for their ceremony. All we could hear were the birds chirps, the waves crashing and the wind in the trees but the best part, there wasn’t another person or car in sight.

It was truly like we had all of Big Sur to ourselves. Once they said their “I do’s” in once of the most scenic spots on the coast we drove over to Garrapata State Beach to do some fun portraits. There wasn’t another footprint in the sand aside from ours, how magical!

After we parted ways, they went on to get pancakes in their wedding attire and explore the coast! Seriously the best day, a sunrise elopement was most definitely worth the early wakeup.
